With support from UNICEF, Department of Women & Child Development(DWCD), Govt. Of Orissa has developed MIS for managing database of children in conflict with law and children in need of care & protection.The Idea was to computerize the formats prescribed under JJ Act,2006 (amended) version. Its aimed to support members of Juvenile Justice Board, Child Welfare Committee, Special Juvenile Police Unit, Probation Officers and Officer in charge of juvenile justice cell to speed up justice delivery process. The MIS software has an element of tracking progress of each case profile and scope to generate report on monthly basis for the benefit of key decision makers. Moreover, this is considered to be one of the effective way to record case history of each child as soon as they seek the support of JJ system and build the case profile as the case progresses, with tracking register in place. In unison, MIS software provides access to memers of JJ system to avail information on time while discharging the case order. The MIS software brings an oppurtunity to simplify order generation process using technology and also open oppurtunity to standardize the report format across the state as prescribed by JJ Act.
